I'm interested but since I live in Europe (230Volt land!) is it useable at all for me?

Do you? It's a 1:1 job intended to be used with a doubler for 120VAC. If you feed it 235V instead and use a full bridge, you'll get the same voltages on the secondary, same power consumption. Don't thik the primary will care about the voltage being twice as high because the current through it will be exactly half of what it is in the US.Funkalicousgroove wrote:you'd have to use a converter

Re: Loop Trannies Available
you'll get 12.6v filament or so that way- You can try it I s'pose but I make no warranty

Forgot to clarify that. Sure, you get 12.6 V for the heaters, which you can totally use for one 12AX7 if don't run the two heaters in parallel by not using pin 9 and feeding the 12.6VAC to pins 4 and 5 -- of course, this means DO NOT TIE THEM TOGETHER.Funkalicousgroove wrote:you'll get 12.6v filament or so that way- You can try it I s'pose but I make no warranty

Good call Gil!!
So I guess just rectify Full wave, and of course you'll need to change the pilot lamp setup to account for the add'l voltage.
like I said, I make no warranty, but I'd love to hear how one such unit turns out!

Right, so that means replacing the 390 ohm resistor with a 1K one, just like Dumble used for the pilot LED on the amps with the auxiliary 12.6 V tranny.Funkalicousgroove wrote:Good call Gil!!

I appreciate you not making any warranties about it, I wouldn't either just in case. But I would be totally comfortable trying this myself if it was my own personally tranny.... Hey, fly me to Europe and I will built and check it out for you over there!
