I have never played a real Dumble and was wondering what affordable Dumble clone comes closest to the real thing? Two-Rock? Fuchs? Bruno? Which model would you recommend?

Re: So which Dumble clone comes closest?
My opinion only:
I have played the real thing, a Two Rock, and a Top Hat. I have built 3 clones myself. All of them were different, but all are wonderful. Since HAD's product evolved over the years, I don't think any one is "closest" to the real thing. The Two Rock was restrained or constrained, if that makes sense. I sounded more modern and closer to the Robben Ford sound. The Top Hat was really open sounding and feeling, but much "rawer", but expressive. It was based on an earlier incarnation. I really liked it for my playing style. The clones I built are in between the two commercial clones I played. This probably doesn't help much, but what I'm saying is "It's all good!!"
Enjoy, build, play, tweak, and enjoy!!

Re: So which Dumble clone comes closest?
Unfortunately I never got to play the real thing. I tried a Fuchs ODS 100 through a Bogner 4x12'' w/ Vintage 30s which I liked very much. Excellent cleans, various shades of gain, feedback at almost any volume, very sensitive to the instrument plugged in (garbage in - garbage out).
I have a self modded Bassman which I converted to a 70s style Overdrive special (fixed voltage divider in place of the OD trim and the O'Connor 800 Master volume). Great clean, variable overdrive.
But my favorite amp right now is my self-modded Deluxe Reverb II which has the Skyliner values and the post-OD tone stack with front panel controls (values are 39k slope, 500pF treble and .022 mid and bass caps). The clean channel has Bright, Treble shift, Midboost and Deep switches which makes it very versatile. This amp is the do-it-all for me - adjustable clean tone, nice clean with grit at 2-2.5 on the gain, cool touch responsive drive at 4-5 and endless sustain at 7-8. Turning down the bass in the pre-OD EQ and increasing the bass in the post-OD EQ gives a more Marshallesque tone. Speaker is a 100W Celestion. Still it is quite light weight. I like it so much that I am now seriously considering to convert my Bassman to a T-Wreck clone and turning my Fender Concert into a D-clone!
I would love to try a Two Rock or Bruno but I have never seen one of these in Germany.

Which model Top Hat amp did you play?
Thanks

I honestly don't know and exact model. I think it had "Custom 100" on one of the panels.
