I like the first clip a lot, defnitely has that Dumbley quality to it. HRM w/PAB on?

HRM, not sure if PAB was on or not but if it sounds like it is to you then I'll believe you :D

Interestingly I note most people seem to not like this amp without the PAB when in OD but I find useful tones there for sure.
Heck one of the tones I like a lot too is the jazz position with the mid boost and the amp almost fully open....
Next time I am going to train a camera on the amp so I can keep track of setting better.

Second track is not a dumble style btw 6g3 with loop and MV and not very hot at all.

Thanks for the nod on it Gil. Coming from you that means a lot. Now if I can just get myself together enough to play like that and I'll be really pleased with myself...

Not too sure honestly but I know it was no junker. Very nice whatever it is.
I had four different speaker running too. A GB, a gh 30? a Century and some unknown junker. Sadly again I did not do much to take notes but should have. Next time I will have a clearer idea of what exactly is what. This was just to get our feet wet and see what we're working with. This is the first time he dialed anything in. I just let him explore it and answered questions when asked. Next time should be more productive. We did get some hotter clips of the amp but he would like to do it again as he thinks he can capture what is happening in the room better. I'm pretty impressed with what he has done so far so I am going to trust him and let him do whatever he would like. Other guitars too. Hopefully a 335. :O)
He is also familiar with the amp now and so next round should be even better all around.
Next time hopefully Tone Tubby's an EV's too.
Just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark enough to play ball by most standards. I know what I think but it always good to have it from other angles.
This clip though did one really great thing for me. It's gotten me to to realize how much work as a musician I have before me in order to do this kind of amp justice.

To me the od-clip is very good in deed. There is nice balance with the high and low strings.
Congrats :D 8)

Forget the ballpark... That's a home run!

Hi
I played/recorded that clip.

I used a Senheisser e609 and a CAD M-179 both close miking 1x12 cabs.

Shad built a great sounding amp!

Thanks

You'll have to ask Shad about the build.
Guitar was a late 70's Les Paul with a mid 60's patent HB in the bridge.

To note only the first clip is an ODS amp. The second is small fendery thing.
Martin answered the guitar a question. I'll add it was gorgeous.
The build is just a more or less straight HRM. Lots of component testing, proper lead dress. Small value tweaks but nothing crazy. I fiddled it to my ear (hrm eq) and then simply let Martin have fun with it.
It really should be noted that the amp is great but the player here is what allows that to be known. Without Martins ability to play the snot out of it and to also be able to capture it (he's sick with a mic and his ears) few would be aware. Perhaps myself included! :O)
