“it took me months to do a cap job”?
Where does it say that? From what I understand HAD would do tear downs, similar to what he'd do to the Ultraphonix amps. He likely measured every part when rebuilding it, to get the behavior he wanted. I suspect that and other projects are what took so long. Keep in mind you have 10% resistor tolerance, 20% voltage tolerance, for example, to mess with operating points and change the amp up.

Did you perhaps forget to read the whole letter?

He states it was much more than a recap...

To answer your question..
"sedulous adjective
sed·u·lous | \ ˈse-jə-ləs

\
Definition of sedulous
1
: involving or accomplished with careful perseverance
sedulous craftsmanship
2
: diligent in application or pursuit
a sedulous student"

I wouldnt buy this amp, but I would basically think of it like how HAD builds the UP, but he kept values within Fender's spec. Also, Robben can price this any way he wants. It's a celebrity owned amp. If guys can sell off their Strats and LP's for $50k, why can't Robben ask a bit for his celebrity owned, Dumble tuned amp Fender? I don't think his asking price is as unreasonable as everyone is implying considering those facts.. If you want a run of the mil vintage fender for $1500. Go get one and move along.

Bingo, this discussion as seen on the various places online is getting old. It implies that the complainer has a certain 'hands off' work ethic and expects the same in others. As such, it says more about the cynics than it does about Dumble.

The Dumble reworked Fenders and Marshalls I have seen show that A LOT of effort was put into the amplifiers.

Please staph.
