Spot the error?

Post by Oddvar R »

Hi. I am about to assemble my Dumble build, but wondered if anyone could see any obvious mistakes here. Better now than when assembled?

Right off I would say make sure all the eyelets are full of solder.
What build is this?

It's ODS #183. I have left out some room in the eyelets to make room for the out/in going wires. I am a bit uncertain if the potentiometers are the right way, and also the transistor.

What size coupling capacitors are you using for the output tubes?
They look like .002 instead of .02uf?

Just from an aesthetic point of view, solid core wire and connecting underneath the board looks better. Those little holes in the main board are to put the wire through so they act like strain resistance.

I agree, but I put them on top to be able to see them, when underneath it's difficult to spot if they are loose, when troubleshooting?
I found one mistake though, put .005 uf s instead of .05.

Hard to tell from pictures alone but the OD2 output cap looks like a .05 instead of a 0.005 (50n vs 5n).
At least it seems quite big for that value unless you use a 1000-1200v cap.

PRP resistors, I like them. Bought 1/2W, should have tried 1W (will do).
