I have been running mine with the ports open. Sounds much better to me, less bottom end. I ran my twin through it and had to turn the base down to 2 or 3 otherwise the bass was just too much.
The cab is built to the original EV specs but he did add a false wall to extend the size of the cab so it would fit my bassman head.
The cab has been tightened up and all of the joints have been caulked. I also added basket material between the speaker and baffle and the baffle and cabinet. I added a gasket to the back panel too. This sucker is air tight .
Hi Keith-
When I built my TL806s, I glued and screwed and then sealed all interior joints with epoxy. Glued and screwed the baffle in place and then epoxied that.
As you say, that sucker is tight, and solid.

Need a little help. My brother barrowed my Dumble/bassman amp and cab and now he wants one. He's a carpenter and can build his own TL806 cab but wants me want me to build him an amp like mine. He doesn't need the Deep switch or the jazz / rock switch. Can someone mod a schematic with the deep and rock/jazz eliminated? The Jazz / Rock thing is confusing man. might not even use the channel or boost switching either. Just toggle the clean and overdrive. He used the overdrive channel only during practice and loved it. Kind of set it up with just a little grit and threw his Gristle King pedal at it. He was in love after that point. :}
Some how I knew you'd chime in first. Great info and pretty much what I was looking for. I see on the schematic there is an extra switch on the center tap of the bass pot and a 68k slope resistor instead of the stock 150k. Can you shed some light on these changes?
I would not use that schematic. Look at the layout and schematic in the #102 sticky, D files section. The location is the same as you linked in the first post in this thread. Neither of those features are shown.
What power transformer do you think I should use? Is there one that I could use to eliminate using an extra transformer for the channel switching section. Maybe something with 2 x 6.3V windings? Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

If I use the standup power and output would I get any cross talk between the two transformers. I'm guessing that's why fender used a through the chassis power and a standup output transformer. am I wrong here?
