New amp JM-Like 6v6... need help!!!

Post by bill89 »

Hi,
Someone help me with my new project?!
I'm no expert but think that this diagram could be corrected...
I don't know anything about power supplies...
I have a 15W OT and my PT have a max tension of 250V AC and 32V AC for bias!

Thanks

10k 6V6 cathode resistors ???

Shouldn't those be 1 ohm or 10 ohm for fixed bias

or maybe 100 to 150 ohm for a combined cathode/fixed bias

Plain truth here....a tiny 15W output transformer and 320V on the plates of a pair 6V6's is not going to remotely sound or feel like a 100W quad 6L6 amp.

Of course that configuration could sound good, it's just a Dumble clean only low plate preamp into a standard Dumble PI.

What uprgade you ask; change the power transformer to something that would provide 470-490 volts on the plates and run a pair of 6L6's with a appropriate output transformer.

Ok, but It is my first amp and I would like to spend a little... :P
I don't know the effect of the resistor of the grid of 6v6...
How should I calculate the value?!

Why is that 220K resistor across the supply?

Sometimes it is best to follow convention that try to re-invent the wheel.

What is your goal for this amp?

Please put your location in your profile so we can help you better with suggestions.

Bleeder, and it will only work for the rest of the preamp if the standby switch is "closed".

As far as learning you are off to good start, as configured it work. I would make a few changes though.
