My only concearn about starting or not a D project was that all I heard from the records (fusion mostly) was not my cup of tea, I'm a rock guy and hit the strings quite hard (there's nothin much subtle about my playing ), so I was afraid the amp design would not fit my lack of soft touch.

now I just got confused about one thing:
what is the HRM or "no HRM"??

Has anyone used pedals to drive the amp's clean or crunch sounds??
Has anyone tried a Fuzz Face / Bender style fuzz with the amp??

I wouldn't say "light touch" as much as they take the right touch. Like any piece of equipment you need to adjust your playing to it. I play fairly firmly and they respond well to my touch.

I don't know the origin of the name, but the "Hot Rubber Monkey" is the post overdrive tone stack trimmers. These are typically found on 90's Dumbles.

I've used a TS-9 and it sounds great. I like to use it for light crunch tones.

I use a 60's Vox wah and a homemade TS-808 in front of my amp and digital verb/delay in the loop, all with great results.

Last time I mentioned a tube screamer, it started a rather lively discussion. Ironically, since I made certain tweaks to my amp, I don't use the TS 808 much anymore.

Since you mentioned rock, I have some clips of the amp you may want to hear that are rock flavored. A couple feature the TS-808.
These clips that were done during various stages of my build, so are not meant to represent the best that the amp actually sounds, just what it sounded like at the time. I have no clips of the amp as it sounds now. If I make some more, I will post here about it. ANyway, listen to the clips dated:
