Hot Damn what a touch!!! Chuck's all over that amp's sweet spot.

What guitar and speakers was he playing?

Can you get some of his stem cells so I can get his chops? Maybe just a DNA sample?

Normster,

Where to you usually set the internal trimmer on your ready built D'Lites? I asked Chuck how his was set up and he suggested I ask you.

Thanks! OB.

I set it up by ear. With the Vol at 2:00 and OD Gain at 9:00, I turn the trimmer until I get just a touch of bluesy breakup (and clean with a releatively light touch). The sweet spot for me is ususally between 10:00 and 11:00 on the trimmer. Scott has suggested that with Chuck's touch, I should have bumped it closer to 11:00 but I think it's about 10:30.

Great info on dialing in the amp! Thanks for the prompt reply.

I set them about half way. Fwiw, Chuck was asking me how to get more gain without the PAB engaged. If you listen to his clip, the top end could use a hair more "bite" (at least for my tastes)

My buddies Dumble was set at 57K to ground on his 100K trimmer. That is more than halfway on.

Object is to get the wave to clip just the right amount.

I have mine set at half way right now. Seemed pretty good, but when I recorded a clip, it had hair, but it didn't have the same edgy bite as Chuck's clip ('first recording D'Lite') that I was using for a reference. Scott - FYI, this line of questons is regarding the non-HRM (pre-amp only) build that we discussed a few weeks ago, so it's not exactly a D'Lite anyway.

1265 speaker?

Actually, turning up the trimmer should yield more bite and not less....

Yes on the 1265 speaker. (Which BTW I am liking more and more as it breaks in and I get to know it). Picked up a Hot vintage PAF bridge pup as well which is currently residing im my PRS HB. Incredible value at $59 street price. :D
