Dumble's mods for a Fender Bassman
I spoke with Normster last week about what is now appearing as a one-off that I am trying to find out about. It's a blackface mid60's Bassman, formerly owned by David Lindley, modded by HAD,used on most,if not all,of the touring and recording Lindley did, with Jackson Browne.I sent out one email and got a response that most of Dumble's Bassman mods are well known. Is there a resource for this ? I would like to determine what the mods are,and if they would be useful to me,as a player, and electronic lightweight. Thanks,in advance for the help.

Very cool piece. That Running on Empty tone was the sound that got me interested in these amps way back in the 70's, not to mention Nokie Edwards' clean tone with an HAD modded Showman with the early Ventures.GuitarsFromMars wrote:I spoke with Normster last week about what is now appearing as a one-off that I am trying to find out about. I don't think I can help much on resources, but I'd suggest that if you can take detailed pictures of the internals we may be able to piece together what HAD did.

Me too,Doctor my Eyes/Redneck Friend were the tunes for me-I don't have the amp...I merely know of it,unfortunately-I know that the guys at Overland Express had it for sale several years ago,the price, even then was well beyond stupid(about 10K$) but I had a stroke in the last 10 months, and my memory was/is affected.Does anyone else know anything about the D-mods for a Bassman??Bob-I wrote:Very cool piece. Nope,we briefly touched on it,but that particular thread is about using a BF/SF Bassman as a platform for an ODS build, this is a D-modified BF Bassman, not specifically an ODS type thing.

They are also different for each player, sometimes consisting of 2 straight channels, sometimes 1 gain channel more marshally and 1 straight channel, not channel switching. Bascially just custom tweaks off a bassman platform. Probably less consitancy circuit wise between each one than his normal amps

Bob-I:
Do you know what HAD did to Nokie's Showman?
