DEMETER/DUMBLE?

Post by Mr Dumble »

Anyone know how similar they sound in person? I have never played any Demeter amp. Landreth sounds KILLER here, and it has a very similar tone to his Dumble. Actually, almost what I would call an exaggerated Dumble tone. Not sure I dont like it even more than his Dumble tones. Similar to some of Bonnie Raites (sp) tones. Very cool in any case!!
Thanks for any info.

Yes, I do. This is a early tweed stereo return model with matching 1-12 cab that I've owned since 91', which is now a transformer stand. :o I also have a carpet mono(circa 89') model like SL's that's on permanent loan. I believe it's the green channel he's playing through in the video. I never really thought that they were that similar in voice though. I have never been fond of the clean channel, but the green and red channels crunch and lead tones are sweet. My favorites tubes in these is actually 6550's.

I modded one for a buddy that sounded great, but it wasn't close beforehand

This is Sonnys pedal board from 2 years ago, when he played at Rock n Bowl in NOLA, through his Demeter. However Sonny sounds like Sonny no matter what he is using. 8)

Boss DM-2, Keeley Compressor, Zendrive and Boss TU-2. That's my guess.

Yeah I recognized the Zen and TU-2.

So the red one is a Boss DM-2?

I also notice he uses batteries as all the inputs are unplugged.
Probably for noise reasons.

The DM-2 is a highly praised MN3005 based analog delay.
