Any DIYers Used a SLO style chasis for ODS build?
I am thinking about building an ODS this year and i have some very heavy iron. Also the power transformer is stand up marshall style so I am concerned about a twin style cut out in the chasis reducing strength so that is why I am considering the SLO style. Other wise would I would use more traditional chasis.

I like the blank chassis from Watts Tube Audio

Nice and thick, decent prices, various sizes and you can drill them how you like. I'm using the JCM style for my current build with stand up trannies (edcor) for more of a dumbleland configuration.

Thank you Er. The 20x8x2.5 chasis is a possibility and looks close to traditional size. The head will be heavy but there is no substitute for 100 watts for playing clean.

I like Watt's chassis as well but I also order custom sizes from http://ddawgamps.com/Amp_Chassis.php
I like to get Dumble style combo cabs from www.Gabkits.com having Ddawg make them 19.50x8x2.5 fit perfect in the opening. You can get a heavy chassis that will handle your PT plus he welds the corners if you want.
Also www.rjguitars.net sells great chassis as well.
Also, Taylor Cox (Amplified Nation) can also make great cabinets.

I've built both a 50W and 100W with that same chassis. It isn't welded but is strong enough. Also, the built in nuts save a lot of hassle when you mount it.ampexplorer wrote:Thank you Er. I buy the clips with 1/4 inch threads drill 3/8 hole on chassis end folds and slip that clip on. Carefull make a drilling pattern and mark cabinet for drilling.
