It's the post overdrive tone stack. In later model Dumble's HAD (Howard Alexander Dumble) used this for fine tuning the ckt.
Re: HRM?
CKT? just kiddin:)
I had know idea what HRM stood for.. but knew what it did:) someday ill add one to my amp:(

Hey man, you're leanin on my dream......
Re: HRM?
I learned from dogears that there's more to it than just the tone stack. The OD entrance is quite different as well as the gain structure.Icetech wrote:CKT? just kiddin:)

Re: HRM?
looks like a fine excuse to build another amp then:)

Re: HRM?
Sooo...did HAD ever call it HRM?
Where's that list of TLA's? (Three Letter Acronyms)

Re: HRM?
Nah, you can mod the amp easily. HAD used a PCB for the HRM in his ODS', all you need to do is modify the CBP and the ODE.Icetech wrote:looks like a fine excuse to build another amp then:)
I can't think of anymore TLA's to put in that sentence.
Ok, seriously. The 100K trim pot on the entrance to the overdrive section gets modified, different plate loads and cathode bypass, otherwise it's pretty much the same amp.
Re: HRM?
you forgot to mention the PAB... but i am pretty happy with this amp, hate to mess with it now:) who knows though.. i will be bored one nigth and mess with im im sure

Bob-I wasn't joking...... "In some newer models (1990s to present), the overdrive stages are followed by a tonestack which is adjustable using trimpots inside the amplifier. This is known as the Hot Rubber Monkey (HRM) mod." (quote right out of Wikipedia)stoo wrote: Umm....so what does it stand for?

Re: HRM?
That's right. It's a PCB.... PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDstrat57 wrote:Bob-I wasn't joking...... Oh..... that PCB, and here I thought you were talking about something I used to ingest back in the 70's!Bob-I wrote:

Just a noob's observation, but I notice some of those Dumbles have lots of little PCB's located all over inside. Could these also be called TQE boards? (Tone Quality Enhancement)
