If you're gonna keep it 'lite',doesn't it make sense to keep it to V1,V2,PI,as we are talking about dumbleateor,a series loop could be added like my K&M has,if you feel there is a demand for an effects loop-I am not sure where you and BN are drawing your proverbial 'line in the sand'?I hope this helps from another perspective. Thanks for your indulgence.

Yep, that's kinda what we're thinking. Unless you're pushing rack gear, a passive loop will work just fine. I'm leaning towards 3 tubes, straight up, stripped down Dumble, no frills (other than optional foot switching).

You could offer Reverb and/or a loop as another upcharge option...I like the way you think,Norm.

I'd be interested in a simple one too... Footswitch option would be great.

One other thing... Are you planning on offering a chassis only kit or also
the head cabinet? I'd probably be more interested in the chassis only...

We're looking at roughly the same structure as the brownnote 18 watt kits;
Full kit, major components, transformers, head cab, ala carte or package deal.

I'm also interested in a kit. I'd go for upgrades in iron as well as a combo cabinet for 1x12.

I've been following this on 18watt.com and am also interested in a chassis.

Normster asked:
2. Plain box or CNC cut? (tranny, tubes, IEC, the works?)

It looks like the majority want a cut chassis, and I agree. Doing the PT and IEC power jack cuts are a hassle to do well without a mill.

As for the extra tube hole, if it easily fits the layout it might prove useful for those who want to mod the basic D'Lite. The Trinity SIII chassis has an extra preamp tube hole and it is certainly doesn't detract from the chassis.

OK everybody,
Here's what I'm thinking regarding the D-Lite Kit

I'm planning on doing a production run of chassis.
All folded sides, integrated mounting hardware, fully punched .080 aluminum, black powder coat, white silk-screening, no logos, tubes point up...high quality. $60

Many people have stated they want one, but it's time to vote with your wallet if you want to reserve your chassis or kit.
I'm going to take preorders, for approx 2 week delivery, give or take a couple of days.
$60 secures your chassis, balance due for transformers, full kits, or S&H charges (figure $6-$10 CONUS) at time of shipping.

More details on the contents of the kits will be forthcoming, but here’s the rub: Heyboer iron, all high quality components like Dale, Sprague, F&T, Switchcraft, etc.
Head & Combo cabs will be available as well. Possible upgrades will be MM iron, custom faceplates for traditional tubes point down mounting configurations, etc. We can also direct you to cheaper iron from other vendors that will work with the build.

The first run will probably be 25 pieces, and many of these are already spoken for, so if you really want one, email me through my website and I'll reply with the link to the checkout page.

Depending on response, this ball will be rolling within 48 hrs, in the meantime I'm open to suggestions, feedback etc.

I'm posting this on several other forums as well.

Thanks!

Tubes point up with a combo cab? Do you already have a sample configuration of that?

Good point, for the combo cab we're thinking of the traditional tubes point down style and an appropriate faceplate set.

Brownnote,

Can't say I'd be interested in a kit since I like to tweak my own, but I may be interested in a raw chassis, punched for the pots and jacks only (no PT or OT holes), and w/o silkscreening. Since it's a 'Lite' version, I don't plan to follow HADs 3 board layout. thanks Bob

Perhaps you could offer the chassis with either holes pre-punched or just the raw chassis with no holes at all. Some people might prefer having custom made X-formers that will not fit the pre-cut holes, or might prefer having stand-up X-formers that do not require a big square hole pre-cut either.
Just a thought, I am an all custom made type of guy.
