44 OT dlite question

has anyone used a 3200 primary OT in one of the 50watt dumble or dlite 44 builds 2 6L6s....I am sourcing parts for my build...and would like any information or advice...this is a 60 watt OT with 3200 primary? thanks for any advice!! I have read 4200 is ideal?

edit...this amp would be using...single coil pickups

I've built a couple of 50W D'lites and I used 4.4K with M6 steel. There's no reason why you can't use that 3.2K. Since you aren't trying to clone an exact 50W Dumble, I don't think there is an ideal Z perse'. I think you see 4.2K because that's what Fender's commonly used.

A great sounding amp can be built within a range of input impedences, however something in the 4000-4440 range would get you closer to the bar standard. I have a 50W Marshall OT thats 3.3K with M6 steel, I bet that would sound great with a pair of KT66's.
