My '70s ODS in a Princeton chassis didn't look too cool in its aged tweed combo, so I got a Princeton head in snakeskin with salt &pepper grille.

Now it looks as cool as it sounds!

Thanx guys! "Pink is the new black". Sorry, waayyy too advanced for me! I must be getting better at fitting cabs to chassis, this one fit my drilled holes first time out!

The amp is the same inside as that pic except I changed the 82K CF on V1B grid to a 47K CC, based on advice from Jelle that 47K sounds real good as gridstopper in all positions. I have 56K CC on V2, which I figured was close enough. Actual values (these are 10% CCs so they're kinda loose) are 52K, 58K & 58K, so there ain't much actual difference. The rest is the same as the 100W one Tony built recently with all 56K gridstoppers.

The chassis is full of the parts from a '67 AB165 Bassman I sacrificed. The iron has a lot to do with the tone. No snubbers on V2, not necessary.

I changed the tubes, I now have two short plate Amperex 12AX7s in V1 & V2, a French RTC 12AT7 labeled as a Bugle Boy in the FX loop buffer and a '56 Mazda grayplate 12AT7 in the PI.

The power tubes are NOS RCA blackplates, very hard examples, had to bias at -60V to get 30-32 mA! I may change them back to a pair of much softer used ones I first had in there.

PI is adjusted to match AC at the caps, measured at 400 and 1000Hz. The DC balance is about 1V at that point, that '50s stuff was just so well built, pity it ain't cheap any more! OTOH, great NOS 12AT7s cost about one third to one quarter of the same thing in a 12AX7.

The buffered loop is Normster's circuit. I now use all Solen caps in it as they are the smallest I could find, those Mallory 150s were what I had at the time.
