Brad/TAG
Hope you guy's are good!!
I am currently finishing up on a layout for 183..It would really be wonderful if one or both of you guy's could come up with a really nice clip (video preferred) with really nice sound quality or something like this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ap6odoC4itw showing both channels boost etc.. as to give us an accurate reference on the total amp for those who wish to build this sort of D-Style amp will know what to shoot for.. I am 100% sure those here who wish to build such an amp will really be appreciative of your efforts in contributing such a valuable piece of Dumble history to this a builders forum..It will most certainly follow the layout wherever it goes..
You can post it right here..

All The Best and The amp sounds Wonderful!!

Both amps sound good. It seems like the original Dumble has
a thicker slightly more compressed tone and the TKT 183 has more midrange emphasis and slightly less bass.

Mac Daddy, did you use the same settings on both amps?

The Dumble just jumps out in your face. The TKT sounds great but the Dumble just knocks it out of the park.

Brad, The Dumble is far louder in those clips! Not evem close. I call cheating. We had the amps sounding almost dead on, and made clips of it which you will not post. You should post those clips as well. Fair is fair!

You have my permission to post them
But as per our conversion , I felt the recording quality was so poor that they both sounded the same no matter what Amps were being used

No Looper or special cable
Only effect was a Trex Roommate thru the loop

My pleasure Brad! thank you so much for your time. it was great seeing you again. Man, did i overplay or what???please excuse my excitement. but it was like crossing off "play a real dumble" from the bucket list. let me tell you ,the TKT is one great amp! the dumble had some more to it, but the TKT was fantastic! i think with some tube swapping and some break in time that amp will sound even better. but right about now, i would give my left nut for one! especially since the child rearing days are over for me.- trap, errr... pman :)

YES!! There you go!!! Thanks big guy!

When we first plugged both amps in, I kept the controls on both amps the same, and it sounded similar to the other clips where I feel the Dumble is much louder as well. Then we cut the Treble and mids on the Quinn back to about 10 Oclock vs the 12 Oclock on the Dumble, and the tones got extremely close. This clip represents what I was hearing in the room very well. Very hard to tell one from the other IMO. We still want to get the Shadman back here to fine tune the amps so that they are DEAD on. As it stands, the Dumble still sounds a touch better, but it would be a piece of cake for Shad to nail that last 1%, and it may be as simple as changing tubes. We will be making plenty of high quality wav clips at my house with all three amps. This is only the tip of the iceberg. :) You have got two of the best sounding amps I have ever played right there Bradster!

just the Roomate? It handles the voltage swing?

Looks like a very cool pedal. The dry signal doesn't go through A-D and is buffered by the tube. I gotta start saving my pennies. 8)

THAT's what I'm talking about. That's a great comparison. All pots are not created equal so settings don't always match.

Both amps sound great!!
