The Emerald Pro is still as close overal to #183 as you can get. What an AMAZING amp. I had Bill at TwoRock do a few minor tweaks for me on this one. Switchable 330/500 Treble cap. Three way Bright and 3 way mid switches. deep and bright dedicated to clean channel. Seperate reverb control for each channel. (Clean channel reverb knob sets overal reverb, and lead channel knob cuts it back from there). He also "sweetened" the power supply, whatever that means. The amp went from great to off the charts. I am enjoying this amp almost as much as the 183 Dumble. Both amps have their advantages and disadvantages. The Emmy is the smoothest, strainiest amp I have ever played. The Dumble has the most vowel like ,human vocal sound, but both are VERY close tonally speaking.
Les paul into G12H30s. Built in loop set to parallel. with a Boss DD2. (I know I know) Amps reverb set to about 12 Oclock. Boost off, mids off. Basically straight in. 500K treble cap engaged. All Eqs at noon, presence at 2 oclock. Internal HRM trrimmers set by Bill at TwoRock. The cleans on this amp are also off the charts. here is a clean clip I did a while ago with this amp. I sold it to help pay for the Dumble, but have now gotten it back!
I find it interesting how close they are, but how different the circuits are. I've had a couple of low gain Emmy Pros and they were pretty much identical.
183:
100W EL34
Skyline
No HRM
High Plate
No LNFB on V1
Emmy Pro:
50W 6L6/7581 (Both of my amps had Fender output xformers)
No Skyline
Mid Plate? (I don't have my notes in front of me, but I think V1 is 150K/120K and V2 is 180K/120K)
HRM
LNFB on V1 (Switchable between high and low, but it is always in the circuit)
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can recall of the top of my head.
But since you did not build the amp yourself, I do not know if this is wise to start this tread here. The builder(s) might not appreciate sharing of the information from their products. Or they might not care, dunno.
Having said this....since this is a forum for the technical specifics on how to build your own Dumble style amp and you posted this already....what is it that makes this amp tick?

Thats the thing. The circuits do not have to be the same to get the same tone if you know what you are doing it seems. The Emmy can get tones that are very very close to many different Dumble amps. The only real mod that needs to be done is to have both the 330 and 500 K treble cap switch. The other mods are really cool as well, such as the 3 way mid switch. The stock emmy mid boost is very strong, and Bill added one that was aprox midway between none, and the strong stock one. He did the same with the bright switch.
