Isn't it possible this is real? Dumble exported some amps to Europe in the late 70's. It says in the description that reverb was added.Amp is from 1979 also. Didn't the guys that cloned the first gen. dumble's (The Ktty Hawk special) get some of these amps with no iron etc. and decide to just clone the amp because it was cheaper.

This must be a real one, I see a bunch of Kitty Hawk Standards there also. Gregory Hildon records there too..... If you go on you tube Gregor does a demo of one (or a few) of the Kitty Hawk Standards.

The preamp output raises a flag.

As well as the small voltage selector label it's a the size of current production the older 70's were almost the full chassis width.

Though the spacing is correct. If its not real it's not Nat's chassis.

Interesting!
The font on the front does look an awful lot like the one Nachanis uses,
but the output jacks on the back are oriented closer to the switches than on the Nach chassis. (I just built a 70's style using one of his chassis).
Also, I'm not aware of any amps from this period that have a full effects loop. Most just have the preamp out.
However, If it is a fake, dude did some serious sleuthing. I was never able to source the red voltage selector and plate, and I was lucky that I just happened to have the correct style pilot lamp. These can be difficult to find now also.

EDIT:
Sorry selloutrr, just saw your post. We're ALWAYS posting at the same time!!

Something else I have noticed about Alexander's amps, all the nuts on the jacks and switches are always lined up the same.
With the point of the nut pointing up and down.

Hard to make out a lot of detail in those photos.

I blew it up in picasa, still quite distorded looking. Although when blown up from the looks it has 5 preamp tubes ( built in dumbleator? ). It said they added reverb though. Hmmmmmm.........IDK?

And Structo I think the jack nuts are all lined up. Never noticed that on HAD amps till now. Weird....Guess He was extremely Anal.LOL

Everyone knows the jack nuts must face the same way for the amps to sound their best.... :)

That amp looks real, however amazingly clean, especially the condition of the hardwood box too. Kitty Hawk imported Dumbles, and did do some modifications like loops and reverb too. Their amps were clearly "inspired" as well. Their amps looked a lot like Randy (Boogie) and Howard (D*mble) had a baby.....

I'll be trying for the rest of my natural life to block that image out of my mind.

Some of the earlier ones loaded with the extra tube were buffered sends and not the full loop...Since this one doesn't have the send and return levels my guess is has the buffered send as well..The one I saw looked like Howie added it.. Not confirmed

If this is a real Dumble I am sure the cab is a new, custom made one.
I have seen a number of the amps the Roy brothers imported,
and their cabinets did not look anything like this, e.g. the oval port
was bigger, other details different,too.
The Dumbles at this time only had a preamp out, and the preamp out jack was directly below the lettering. So if somebody had added a power amp in jack it would be in a different place.
However, I think it is possible that this was a feature the Roy brothers
requested, along with the dual output impedance, not a standard feature at the time.
One thing I can say for sure is that the Roy brothers did add reverb
to some amps, including my personal amp, without HADs consent,
and in a very unprofessional way.

Is that a JBL or EVM?

The back panel does say Preamp Output, In and Out.

How are you guys counting tubes?
