el34 HRM

Post by bigmik »

here is my latest build,if you read my last thread you know that she put a pretty good fight but as if now everything appears to be good and sounds awesome. the el 34 add their own signature which is cool ,it's a completely different animal from my 100k non HRM .the cleans in this are chimier where as the 100 k is a bit sweeter and more scooped ,the od side can be smooth but also go into the rock side of things ,the bass in this thing thumps definately a keeper!

anyhow thanks to all who helped me troubleshoot, and everyone who has shared information that has made it possible for normal dude's like me to build amps like these !

Nice Job!!..Glad you got her going.. Those 100w Marshall OPT are pretty tough.. I have yet to have one come back or blow one and I've tried.. Those PT are also really nice w/full wave bridge nice and quiet.. Those give you about 470-480 on the plates ZING!! nice compliment to the HRM circuit... Play Away!!

Great looking build.

Which chassis is that. What I mean is how did you get one without the PT cutout?

I made it ,well i cut it out then a friend of mine who has a machine/sheetmetal shop did the bends and I welded the ends.the mounting brackets I turned on my lathe from 1 inch stock and the faceplates are printed vinyl ,man I would rather buy any day, PITA and more expensive to diy in this case ,what the faceplates cost me about made me faint.

Neil. Nice job on your new build and great work on the chassis heavy duty top notch.
The chassis looks like it will take the HAD five story drop test.

Nice one! I love the iron and the beefy chassis!

Is the Marshall choke you have there a 3H, 100 Ohm resistance thing?

thanks UHP,still trying to build one that looks as nice as yours
the choke is 5h ,115 ohm it's from magnetic components this is the second set of tranny's that I have used from them and have been really pleased with the product and their customer service ,responded quickly to my e-mails

Nah, you did awesome! Very nicely drawn PS PCB too. I can't see from the pics but is your relay PT 12VCT?

Seems a lot of people are digging those magnetic components xformers. They seem to be stricking a nice balance between quality and pricepoint. Heck, they've been around since 43', must be doing something right!
