Dear friends,

This is an old and well covered topic on this forum. Could we please park it here. These discussions tend to end in flame wars with no real winners.
  :(

For my part, I try to share my limited knowledge and from time to time I sum it up in a schematic for other forumites to use freely for non commecial purposes. Sometimes I get a PM with tips from members, who want the info to remain private and I repect that and never share that particular info.

My entry into the Dumble tone world, was a ceriatone OTS kit, which turned out to be a great dissapointment. :( Increasingly desperate and frustrated, I stumbled over this forum and got help from Ayan, Dogears, Funk, Heisthl and others, who were kind enough to share advice helping me to get a decent sounding amp, which ended up being a 50w version of #124, mainly because of Ayans pictures of same amp....another pat on your shoulder, Ayan - whether you need it or not.

I am sorry and didn't mean to stir the murky waters of the past.
I owe a lot to this forum and for that I am very grateful.
I won't name all the names that have helped me, you know who you are and without that help I would have been very frustrated, even though I still get confused many times.

OK, lets move forward.
Tom

There is but one single human alive on this entire earth whom has any rights whatsoever to come to this place and point fingers.

DUMBLE!!

If that is not your name then do you have any legitimate reason to complain about who gets what information and from where?

Nik has done nothing to feel guilty about.

There is no agreement made to join this place that you must share anything..

What about that guy who goes around harassing people behind the scenes who want to figure out the SSS?

How are threats and harassment fostering the sharing you say is so dear?

Shad, of course ultimately Dumble is to thank. I think all anyone is really saying is it would be respectful and nice to be part of this family and post once in a while. You frequently offer advice or helpful tips. The concept of members who just lurk doesn't sit well with me. If you log in, you should say hey once in a while.

On another note, how is Tag's amp progressing?

@ Andi Fuchs,

didn't you take out of Dumbles works some basic ideas, Dumbles amp building philosophy and the spirit to make your own success out of?

Some parts of your products are not your own basic idea and development!

So Think about that!

And what about sharing, you don't share concrete things as well. I never saw a schem of your things here or elsewhere.

There is nothing to be to be anxious about, if i want a Fuchs I'll buy a Fuchs! Your Quality speaks for itself!

So I'm curious about what is inside the Noxious...

All the best

easy now  you've got to distinguish betweeen amateurs (like me and most of the forumites) and professionals, who make a living by building amps. Andy Fuchs, Funk and Heistl amontg others are making a living building these amps. Its obvious that they can't share their business secrets with you. Isn't it??

This is also an old and painfull debate, that we'd better leave alone.

yeah OK easy!

I just do not like people pointing their big finger on others. What I see is a morality turnaround - some should better keep their own doorway clean as we say in my country.

I would think the most dumbleating mod would be the cap on the master volume (bullet 11), but do you really mean .02 uf cap to ground on Master vol = 20nF ??

Regarding 10) Added an external pot for PI trim; - uh uh - be carefull with those high voltages close to the chassis ( but then again you got them on the tube sockets as well :? )
RE: cap on MV:
No, I actually used a very large cap. Maybe it was smaller than .02, but it's large. I only use it to get a mellow OD sound, being I never turn my guitar tone pots down.

Regarding the external PI trim: Yeah, I thought about that - but decided to do it anyway.

BTW, thanks to Henry and Scott for taking the time to personally offer some advice and answers; and to Nik for supplying a real schematic as I hate those drawings.

Thanks for clearing that up.
