Phaez Hot Cat/HRM

Post by mikeyg »

I've picked up this amp recently. Sounds very nice. It's a Hot Cat clean channel with an HRM OD.

I've only recently played a couple Bluesmaster HRMs. This one sounds to me to be Bluesmaster.

Are there telltale parts in the circuit where I can identify it as Bluesmaster?

I bought a 6V6 version of that amp.

I love the Hot Cat based clean channel but the OD doesn't work for me.

Depending upon your take on what makes a Dumble amp, there's not a lot in there that would find it's way into many clones.

The 'mod' switch is fun!! but I wouldn't call it Bluesmaster.

Ontariomaximus posted his minimalist HRM somewhere in this forum. I think it's his hotcat/HRM.

Edit: schematic is here: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... c&start=15
