I've not tried that one - done dado tongue and grooves, laps, biscuits, finger joints [purely for the look] and now I only butt joint with Titebond II or III. Easy, fast, strong and did I mention easy? Could also be I'm not a router fan.
You going to try it?

That's how my last cabinets were build by my friend.

I like the look of dovetails, but for me, they're a lot of work. I might give this a try...

I've been reading up on these miter joints and the consensus is they are really strong BUT they need to be properly set up. Some folks say it takes them about an hour to set the router depth and such. Once the joint it made, seems pretty easy to clamp. I'll likely go this route with the same locking miter bit. Hope that helps! Share your results!

If one's going down the "router route", there's also dovetail jigs that are not overly expensive...

They surely would be faster, but why do you think they are better?

Because the the exposed end grain exapnds and contracts against the opposing side eventually causing the glue to fail. Probably not as much as a problem with woood that has a finish on it but on unfinished drawers I have seen a lot of faluires. I have seen plenty of broken dovetails also. Also I don't care for the look of them. I like joinery that doesn't stand out.

What do you guys have against finger joints? Dovetails are pretty, but functionally they offer an advantage only if you live in the past when there were no good glues.

It's my preferred joint for exposed edges but I use a carbide dado on a table saw. Just for grins I built a 1936 [internal volume] cube 2x12 with pine. I wanted to finger joint the top, bottom and both sides as a geometric and woodworking challenge.
There are something like 140 finger joints on that cab - got to be very boring toward the end.
The finger joint is a classic and not too busy joint.
