Hey guys i have recently purchased and h &k v30 4/12 cabinet,,i already had a h&k statesman 50 wat tube,,on the back it has a jack for 1 at 16 ohms,and 1 at 8 ohns ,,i dont want to hurt the cabinet,,,but i am using 1 at 16 right now,,great sound,,zz style sound great but im wondering if i went to 1 at 8 ohms would it not make the sound a lot louder,,the cabinet did not say,,for certain what ohmage it was >im hooked up now at 1/16 volume is very good ,,but on stage would have to probably mike,,,your advise would be great thanks guys,,, billdawg38730

I just looked up what I believe would be your head and your cabinet.
You want to match the impedances so they are the same.
It looks like the Cabinet is 16 ohms when in mono (using all four speakers).

So, you want to connect the speaker cable to the single 16 ohm output from the amp. It sounds like this is what you have already done. Good work!

Don't worry about your speakers. They can each individually handle 60 watts... and 240 watts all together. So even if you want to run the amp into one side of the cabinet (stereo mode-> 2 separate inputs at 8 ohms each driving only 2 speakers) each side can still handle 120 watts. So, you could run another amp into the other 2 speakers.... but remember to plug into the 8 ohm outputs on the two amps.

Anyways, it is the impedance matching that you want to be concerned about... in order to keep your amp running safe.
