Do you guys ever do this to make it easier to remove the chassis? Trying to think of the best way. Brad nails, or glue? Double sided tape?

I use self-adhesive copper foil tape on the head-cab below where the chassis mounts.

I've also seen aluminum flashing stapled onto the cab.

Rubber ceeement 'cause it smells good.

I usually buy a bottom plate along with my blank chassis, so they are decently thick. I have used both flashing and tape, but just think purchasing a piece to match the chassis is a better way to go. Think I might try some carpet tape first.

I usually don't use anything in the cab for shielding.

I order a bottom plate to use as a drilling guide only.

I built one amp with a massive hum that completely went away when I put the bottom plate on, dead quiet, never seen anything like it. Most the time I hear no difference.

So far my chassis have all been aluminum. Since it doesn't act as shielding I don't see any reason for a bottom plate. Oh, and no hum problems.

Why do you say it does not shield the chassis because they are aluminum?

Doesn't it still shield the amp and send EFI to ground since it is connected to earth ground?

Are you thinking that since Aluminum is non-ferrous it can't provide shielding?

A Faraday cage can be made with copper or any other conductor as long as the resistance is low.

Old MusicMan amps and others stapled screen on top. K&M sells "stamping tin" and other metal sheets in appropriate sizes to do the job + rubber cement for huffing ala reeltarded......

Hobby Lobby sells the stamping tin, I think.

Yes, that was my thought. IIRC I read K. Fischer saying so, but my memory's very faulty these days. So I could certainly be wrong.

But aluminum surely doesn't stop magnetism, right? So how would it protect against an electromagnetic field?
