I like your cab a lot and don't mind the top handle plate either. :)

Very clean and straight. No glue spotting.

Glue? Thanks for the nice replies. Although I havent milled the finger joints, I have adjusted, assembled, sanded and oiled the cab. The top handle stailess steel plate I got cut out from some leftovers at a local metal-working shop - did cost me one USD. Had to be rounded and grinded. The premilled parts were made by Carls Custom Guitars in Lowel, MA, and yes - I did use glue :D

The Jr was in a sorry state when I got it. I gave it a filter re-cap, soldered the reverb-tank, did some minor EQ mods inspired by Bill, a new set of JJ's and a new input jack. Have a Jensen P12Q (60's) incoming wich I hope will sound fine :D

I'm in the middle of gutting and making a new amp out of a local guy's Blues Jr he kept having to pay big dollars for repairs then the OT and EL84's blew so we decided to gut it. :)

Nice Jr. refit! :D

Mark, those chassis always remind me of steel studs like are used in construction.

A guy could get a lot of chassis out of a 10 ft beam.

Makes a sturdy build that. I hope my modest renovation will last a while. Replacing those untrustworthy tube-sockets may be next fix.

Wow! was my first thought. A very nice and clean and beautifully simple cab.

Thanks ! So the 1963 Jensen P12Q is inhouse and tested. Excellent sound but breaks up all to early. Would probably be ideal for a singelended class A.
Weber supplies 40W recones for this speaker, but what then is left of this speakers characteristics? Hmm..

As it turns out, it is not the speaker that buzzes, it is the amp. Have a separate thread about the problem here: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 782#312782
