if you mean the schematic with the green and pink dots, the first gain stage is up above mixed with the normal channel where they share a triode.rooster wrote:Randalp3000 - That last schematic is not showing a true TB circuit? It's missing 1/2 a triode.
How can I change the eq on my vox ac30hw?

I stand corrected. I did not trace that correctly.
The ferrite bead placement is puzzling me now. This is a factory schematic, right?

Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

Ok, new question about the normal channel. It seems like everything discussed is all TB and not Normal. It looks like I dont have many choices on the voicing of this channel. I added a bright cap to it and it opened it up. Pisonic did a simple resistor mod on the bright switch and a push pull volume knob which he says:
The pull volume on the Normal channel inverts the polarity so when the channels are jumpered you can get Normal+Top Boost out of phase (JMI wiring, thinner scooped mids) or in phase (lots more gain, ala Marshall).
The bright switch on the Normal channel goes between darker with more lows (stock JMI Normal) or brighter with tighter low end (JMI non-TB Brilliant sound).
Is there anything I can do to get this to sound more like a stang ray in the normal channel? I would LOVE to make this a stang ray/Z Wreck head and thats my goal. Might not be possible.

If you add an EF86 and the tone control which has a huge mid scoop. The Ghia has a similar tone control but needs a recovery gain stage. So I would say no.cap217 wrote:Is there anything I can do to get this to sound more like a stang ray in the normal channel? I would LOVE to make this a stang ray/Z Wreck head and thats my goal. You may want to revisit the the stang, I did after using the V1 Rx and wreck for about a year and didn't like it at all. But that's just me.
