Which Komet are you interested in?
There are 4 models 3 of which are still being built

Komet 60- Trainwreck Engineered
Komet 80- Trainwreck Engineered (no longer being made afik)
Komet KF 50- Trainwreck Engineered
Komet Constellation- Komet Engineered

In general terms the 60 has Vox/Hiwatt/Marshall leanings
The 80 has what the 60 has with tighter bottom end and more headroom with its KT88 power tubes. Bigger footprint.
The KF 50 is more Wreckish in character more aggressive than the 60 and is a Marshall killer
The Costellation has Vox/Wreck vibe

Remember this is a broad overview.

Hope this helps

I would recommend the Gear page as there a many owners on that forum but it is down right now and for a couple more days probably. The owner of Komet visits there regularly. I have played a Komet 60 and a Constellation fine amps not my cup of tea. All their amps are very expensive $3000 plus.

FWIW, the KF-50 (if still available, it was a limited run) was over $5k. I was number 9 on the waiting list when I decided I just cant play around with that kind of money.

As a side note, I find it interesting that not many people have said a hell of a lot about the KF-50 after they shipped, and at least one person, a poster here , sold his shortly after getting it. No clips have been posted that I'm aware of. Leads me to believe that as nice as they are, they still arent the same as the Express...

Actually the KF 50 Limited with the custom hardwood headbox and selected NOS tubes was a limited run.
Something tells me the people who bought those works of art dont get out much hence the lack of feedback in a real world gigging context. I could be wrong though.

Komet is going to offer the KF 50 in a tolex box for less cost than the Limited.
There will be clips.

Anyone know someone who can make a Komet 60 style chassis? 1/8 inch thick with corner bolt anchors? Komboking isn't taking too many special orders due to family health issues and I don't want to add to his problems.

I got a chance to play a KF50 alongside my Wreck Express clone. The KF50 sounds closer to an actual Marshall. Massive low end. The KF50 is a huge, ballsy, aggressive Marshally sound. The cleans were good too, but I wasn't paying them much attention.

For playing lead though, I can't see anything dethroning my Wreck clone.

I own a Constellation too. It's a thicker sound. More gain. Cleans are Voxy. Not a ton of headroom. But with a Les Paul, it's a fantastic rock tone.

According to Ultrasound, the distributor, there's only one KF50 Limited left.
