They do. FWIW KF HATES Metal Films, he said they make amps sound Anemic. Alex Dumble On the other hand uses those RN65 Metal Films for the plate load resistors.

hello, you might have a little less thermal noise if you use 1 watters for the plate resistors. with this amp, i'm not sure it would make that much difference. rh
Re: 1/2 W or 1W carbon films?
I switched to 1watt 100K plate load resistors and there was not a decernable difference. Of course, my hearing is now rapidly deterioating due to excessive jamming at high volume!
I thinks I might need to look into some 6V6's!

I'd really like to find a source for these........the RN65's really make an appreciable difference. I'd really like to hear how the higher wattage versions sound.lastwinj wrote:1w. they look better!!:D:D or could try to use RN75 or RN80's?

mouser has a limited selection of RN70. also, onlinecomponents.com. just type in rn70d1003 for a 100k rn70. can also try rn70, rn70c or rnc70 by themselves.caglej wrote:I'd really like to find a source for these........the RN65's really make an appreciable difference.
