Bluetone Express Baby ready
Re: Bluetone Express Baby ready
Looks nice Harry!harryk wrote:I made an amp with a combination of Twreck Express pre amp and a power amp with 2xECL86 tubes. Power amp design is partly my own and partly stolen from somewhere. My aim was to produce a guitar amp which is suitable for lead playing purposes with reasonable volume level. I added also PPIMV and VVR to have possiblity to control overall volume level. I will add the schematics and sound clips of this amp later to my web pages. You find pictures of this new baby here www.bluetone.fi/20 Regards Harry

Pretty baby, Harry!
Especially like the mahogany and the RED chassis. Did you simply butt joint the boards?
Transformers are looking fat for a <15 W amp. More like 50 W.
Schoen!

I nowadays use "bisquits" to join pieces of wood together. There is a certain machine in the market which makes a curves to wood. Then you put a bisquit to that and clue pieces together. When you learn to do it, it is very fast and simple way to do joints. PT and OT in this amp are Hammonds. It is easy to get them here in Finland instead of MM:s or Heyboer:s which I have to order from USA if I want to use them. HarryEl_Martin wrote:Pretty baby, Harry!

I haven't found a european supplier for heyboers, but there's a danish site that sells MM's.

The site is in danish, but just send a mail to the address on the bottom asking for what you need. He's pretty cool to deal with.

Re: Bluetone Express Baby ready
Another fine looking amp Harry! Great work. I too added a PPIMV and a VVR (whole amp is regulated) to my new plexi amp and I love the level of control. Presently, I mostly leave the PPIMV cranked but it is nice to have the option to back it off if so desired to change the tone a bit.
