Well, since this amp is a Trainwreck inspired amp and built by AllynM it should fit well here.
Not too long ago I was contacted by a member who loves Black Limba and wanted to see if it was possible to build a cabinet to match his guitar. Like I said he loves Black Limba
Well, I just happened to have a large piece big enough to do the job. The goal was to do the main section of the cabinet in Limba and have Bocote in the center highlighted by thin Flame Maple inlays.
Well it turned out extrenely well..
Here are a couple of pictures including one from the Tampa Tonefest showing the amp/cabinet/guitar..
The black limba sure matches his guitar, but that bocote upper panel looks like a 3D Salvador Dali landscape
What a great compliment to Allyn's amp The owner must think he's in Heaven
Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments.
Yes this turned out quite nicely.
I have to admit it was fun watching it come together.
The Bocote was a really unique piece of wood and I tried to fine the best piece for the center section..
The finish was 7 coats of clear lacquer and when it was totally cured I buffed it out with my buffer.
I am lucky to have a small spray booth and a buffer with dual 14" wheels.
The cabs look nice after they are painted, but once they are buffed they just come alive.
