I just received a parts order today and the order got screwed up: instead of shipping 1n4007's they sent me 1N508's rated as 3 Amp 1000V... can I substitute these for the 1N4007's? If so, any thing I should know or consider?

1N5408's are fine, the leads are just huge. I keep them on hand, some amps use them to rectify the B+.
