I went through a S load of power tubes trying different ones looking for some more magic. I have a pair of GEC KT66s sounded pretty good but not magic. I tried Mullard EL34s those sounded special and I probably would have stopped there but I got a set of Tung-Sol 6550 coke bottle shape tubes. Anyway they are old and they are out of this world. They are the equivalent of KT88.

I alternate between the Valve Arts KT66 and running 6V6's in the wreck Paul Ruby built me. The KT's are what he voiced it around, so it's big and chimey with them.
Of course it's a whole lot louder to get them overdriving, so that why I alternate them with 6V6's.
