Wittle Wocket

Post by joeboo88 »

Hi I was interested in the "dwarf tube rocket" from RJ's build thread.
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... ilit=dwarf
He went through all the pains of designing this amp, and made it easier for guys like me.
This amp uses sub mini tubes to make about 2 watts.
I got everything needed to build this from RJ - The preamp tubes are 3 - 6112's an 2-5902 power tubes. although RJ gave me some Russian 6P30B tubes, but i went with the 5902's to start. The PT that I used is an Edcor 125 0 125 and the OT is a 15 watt 8k. ( the only things I didnt get from RJ was the small caps and resistors )
I soldered the 8 pin sips to the PCB, then installed the tubes in another 8 pin sip, this makes for pulling/installing tubes easier ( i have since replaced my crappy heater wiring) first picture.
I aslo installed about 12 turrets for the Heaters and the Big caps.
This was a fun build and I cant believe how loud this thing is. it is very Rocket like and full sounding, through one of my 12 inch speakers
I might record a sound sample - on my Iphone...
I think if anyone is interested in this should contact RJ - I believe he still has enough parts for this

Cheers...

Great little amp I enjoyed mine.

You did a good job putting that Pocket Rocket together.
