Started on my Rocket build this weekend. Went out to visit my old man and family at the metal shop they work at, and started fabbing out some chassis. Made a few express sized chassis out of .12 inch thick aluminum, and attempted to bend and weld up a dumble chassis out of 1/8th inch thick aluminum (!) for a future build. I don't hardly ever spend much time with the old man, and to be honest it felt good to be with family and do something cool.
After I got home from all that I wired up the heaters and mounted the sockets. Everything else is ordered, with the exception of the xformers. Picked up some peruvian walnut for the cabinet - should look pretty good.

nice. i can't do it, but i like seeing home-bent chassis.
looks like you got the toughest part out of the way - wiring up 4 EL84's with the heaters wrapped around like that. what kind of wire is that - stranded or solid? i used to use solid for my heaters because i liked how they stayed in place, but my liverpool rebuild i did i used stranded and was surprised how much easier it was to wire up the heaters with it - and it seems to stay in place just fine.

Cut up all my walnut for the cabinet. You can never have too many clamps
