I just ran into this, a new choke from Hammond for the AC30. I know we all buy a Hammond version already, but this one has a DC resistance of 514 ohms, which is higher than what Ken used, 411 ohms. It's also rated at 30H, much higher than the other Hammond piece.
No, I have not tried it, CE has it and it costs a more than twice what is typically used, $44. So I am thinking about it.
Has anybody here tried this yet in their Rocket build? My interest is high, because I am assuming that Hammond has done their homework and spec'd off vintage iron. I am thinking it will make a big difference in the sound of the Rocket circuit.

Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

Why do you think it will make a big difference to the sound and what sort of difference do you expect?
Yours Sincerely

That's the choke I use in most of my AC type builds. I think it's been around for awhile. I like them, not sure how much they change the sound.
