The iron in question is the one that Ken used in the earlier TW's. I bid on it and stopped about $52.00. People really wanted it I guess. I bought one last week NIB for a lot less! Who knows why some one would pay that much????? :?

Thats ridiculous...
There where 1000's of those made and are still out there. I have 3 NOS that I bought for 5 bucks a piece. A fool and his money are easily parted.
Rule #1...don't buy on Ebay.

Yeah I saw that... I was going to put in a bid but wasn't watching and missed the final countdown for the auction... when I saw what happened it was just as well... Must have been just the right thing for that bidder...

it didn't sell for any more than a Mercury Magnetics does. Doesn't seem all that pricey to me for known mojo.

In the Tube Amp Handbook by Dave Hunter Ken mentioned in his interview that he thought TFs were important. However, they don't deserve the amount of reverence people give them nowadays. He said he could make any "decent" TF sound good....but then again....that's Ken Fischer!
