Wreck/Rocket

Post by M Fowler »

My new project I am working slowly on is my Wreck based off Zwreck and known Rocket values.

Navy blue cabinets with light blue cloth.

Thinking about blue wash stained flamed maple front wood.

Thank you,

I didn't want to go with silver like the good Doc Z did.

I saw this navy blue at Lopo line so decided that would look good with my red Stangray with 212 cab.

New Wreck

Good Looking Mark. The blue works well.
You don't hang around when it comes to building amps.
Nice work - as usual. Bet she'll sound even better than she looks.

Bob thanks I was worried about the color but when I saw it, I really like it.

I just received the speaker cab today so I was wonder what the light blue grille cloth would look like.

I am waiting for a choke before I continue further with more chassis drilling.

The boards are cut and turrets placed so I can start populating the boards.

Nicely done Mark.

There must be a bit of a trend towards blue amps. I am also looking to do my Z wreck build using Navy blue Tolex.
It actually looks a little lighter than some of the sample pictures on some amp supply web sites. What's your opinion?

Thanks,

I just saw that navy blue option and said I will give it a try and glad I did.

I wasn't sure about the light blue grille cloth though and it looks good in person. I went with the black piping because I just wanted subtle accenting. The plan is to attach a wood front to the speaker cab as well.

Works for me :)

Beautiful, distinctive looking amp, Mark! Very well done. I can't help but check out what's in the background of the picture as well...Dang! I wish I lived closer to you!

Looks really nice, Mark.

The navy blue looks good with some front panel and grille cloth colors you wouldn't think of at first - almost anything goes with it :)

Just for fun, I "installed" a stainless steel front panel on your amp 8)

Great looking work there Mark! I think the blue dyed or stained wooden front panel is a great idea. Should be a real eye catcher!

Thanks Jim, I need to start moving things so that will place me in the garage where just maybe I can get some wood work done.
