Yep. Those should work. Just be careful of the length of the shaft when mounting with a faceplate.

interesting looking at the francesca2.zip pictures - a couple observations.

what are the 2k( red black red ) resistors connected to the heaters and going to ground on v5?

and do most of those resistors on the board look like 1/4watters to you?

Actually I believe they are Brown-Black-Brown (100 ohm) instead of red. Those are resistors used to create a suedo CT for the heater circuit when you use a tranny that doesn't have a CT on the 6.3vac winding. (If you use Mooses Trannys you won't need them). All resistors are 1/2 watt except for the 1k 5watt, 1k25W, and the 9.1k 2w in the power supply

hey thanks ur12 - *rubs eyes* its hard to make that out - looked red black red to me, anyway, u sure they are 1/2 watters on the board? the 470 ohm looks alot bigger than the rest of them which im guessing is a 1watt and then the others that are so much smaller look like 1/4 watters

well, i got my boards today - sweet looking - but the holes on my chassis dont match - who is the source for a new chassis?

Mark, don't replace your chassis. Niks chassis lines up with 2 of the holes in perfboard. The other two are about 1/8" off. Screw the two that line up in to get a guage where you will drill. mark it with a marker. Take a 1/8" drill and drill the two holes. The screw will cover up the mark beautifully. Nik didn't take into consideration perfboard sizing when he designed his chassis. Let me know if you need further help. Glad you like the perfboard. :D

Allyn,

i planned on actually seeing if that were the case - in the invent that it didnt cover i am ready for a new chasis and just putting feelers out for it.

i have a break from the road starting sunday so i will dive in then. ;) the boards look killer man! :D

thanks,

Your're right, I forgot about the PI resistors. Ken used 1 watt resistors for the 470 ohm and the 10k in the PI circuit. All of the other resistors are indeed 1/2 watt and not 1/4 watt. Actually you can get by with 1/2 watt in the PI circuit but I guess Ken figured it would be a little added protection.

As for the holes lining up all you need to do is elongate the holes into an oval or slotted shape and the board will fit fine in the existing holes.

thanks for the post UR12 - good to know about the resistors as well the board holes. ill keep this in mind when i take a look at how im going make it work - either the board or the chassis - if the screws will cover up the holes on the chassis ill do it this way - i believe it will look nicer - if need be and the screws wont cover the old holes on chassis ill do it the way you suggesteed. ;)

I enlarged the holes on the chassis and the board in small increments until they matched up and the screw heads would still cover the holes. I like the idea of making the board holes oval, I was just so worried about breaking a corner off my precious board. Phil

i have a question about the power switch and standby switch.

my power switch is labled:
250V 1.5A
AC 125V 3A

my standby switch is labled:
3A 125VAC
1.5A 250VAC

will these work, are they correct?

---------------------------------------------------------------

also here is what the wiring under the boards look like.

you can see i used one of the tranny bolts for grounds.

which way does the standby switch go?
