I'm "doc" over there - as you can judge by my initial response my antennae were up as well. I think its pretty amusing - TGP(unked)! I did learn something though - the meaning of IBTL!

I don't spend as much time over here (I should) but the scope on TGP is of course broader. I never realized some of you guys had a somewhat poor opinion of TGP; I admit there are some goofy ideas and snake oil expressed there, but I'm fond of it - they're the music forum that "took me in" after the LPF (which I loved and was unjustly banned from) dumped me. I also prefer it to the "rampant youth" of Harmony Central. I've learned a few helpful things at TGP. If you're not posting there I'd like to invite you in - we'd love to have your expertise to dilute out the crap (and help sniff out the trolls!).
Let that boy boogie woogie.

Kind of Funny, I just noticed my post count here, 4 counting this one, but I have over 3500 over there, maybe its time for a change in scenery.

I read most of the threads over here, and a few other forums as well, but I rarely join in.

Cheers!

He's definitely trolling as he's now admitted to using the build guide from the Trainwreck Files section here, which means he has to be a registered member.

Funny then that he decided that the Trainwreck expertise would be at TGP so posted there rather than here, where he might last a few hours more without getting called out.

here he would have more problems to show that he is a geni .

he try to fish for answers with a bait , i think he tries to understand the trainwreak . to make the ultimate trainwreak ,
he want to give an impression that he has a lot of insight . but when it comes to give the proof he dont have any , i dont think he even have made a prototype yet .
its better to admit that one dont know so much instead of paying a game

My take on that is all of the fuss that is made over there whenever anyone says anything about a Trainwreck.

Remember the threads involving Nik at Ceriatone? Page after page of flames. Especially before he changed the logo/faceplates.
Anyone that makes a claim of cloning a wreck for possible profit over there
is doomed to be banned.

Its a trollers dream site

In the interest of time, I captured all of the relevant info from the thread and pasted it here:
This thread should be titled "The Lost Art of Researching Your Topic"

That being said, this thread has become a vacuum devoid of useful and/or interesting discussion.
I feel sorry for myself that I'm still reading and posting.

like being a character in a Fellini movie? Or a Kafka novel?
I feel.....strangely important!

why, why, why, am I reading all this rubbish; what happened to my life?

I just want to say that I have let myself down very badly by even looking in here again.

I do find it a bit like a trainwreck in that it's very hard to look away!

All you need to do now is to "tip off" some guitar mag so they can conduct a "scientific test" to discover the marvellous tonal benefits of these "tubestruments". Maybe you can make a deal with Mercury Magnetics to sell them along with their incredible rusty transformers.

You entirely missed one important fact, there was a reason these amps were so far and above anything ever built.
It is not just the slit in the front valance, but the C37 Lacquer finish.
This is commonly used in restorations of the finest violins ever built as well as custom audiophile speaker drivers & Horns.
C37 is known to contribute a specific resonant frequency which KF was able to convert to a practical application through proper cab porting (slit).
That is why the Wreck sings combined with port tuned microphonics.
