Ken probably shared his mods with the actual people that bought his amps. Not with cloners. However almost all Ken's circuit stuff has been out there for years on TAG. Ken explained the mod to me because I bought the amp from him new. Ken's legacy is already established, and it doesn't need every tiny circuit tweak that he ever did. I'm not being snooty or thinking I'm better than anyone else. I knew Ken very well and know he wouldn't have revealed all his circuit mods to everyone. He did share circuit knowledge to guys that were truly trying to build a Trainwreck. There were cloners of his amps while he was alive, and he didn't respect these guys at all. They were secretive and selling their versions of his amps under the table. He wouldn't have given any of these guys any help..His transformers would still be proprietary if Two Rock hadn't illegally obtained them from Pacific. Now anyone can get one. You do not understand Ken's wishes at all. You act like the world is entitled to all proprietary info out there. Just because Ken is gone, doesn't mean all his work should be dished out to everyone, since Trainwreck is still in business anyway. Ken wouldn't want all his stuff published at this time, and it's not out of respect for him that you demand that it all be published by those in the know. Most boutique amp makers today will not tell all of their design parameters etc. If someone buys their amp, and traces the circuit, that's their decision. Maybe you are a KF fan, as are thousands of people, including me. Your views on enhancing his legacy aren't really right on. It doesn't need enhancing at this point..I started from scratch, spent hundreds of hours studying amps, studying my Trainwrecks and other amps. You could study some basic tube amp design theory and try your own mods. Now that's what Ken would really encourage. Not just dishing out secrets to those that wouldn't understand what was happening in the circuit. It doesn't make sense to clone an amp from a layout and buying the parts if you don't know any amp theory. Any guy with a soldering gun can do that..

Well I think it comes down to if you believe one color banded 10k resistor is going to be different than another 10k branded resistor. Ive never cared as long as they were intolerance from the amps I have built. I respect Ken that he could hear a difference but for me it would be redundancy.

Its not that I demand his work be published its simply most of us wont be able to own a Wreck let alone play a real one. So building one is the only viable option. Like I said part tollerences would just loose me. This is a interesting mod for the current tubes that most folks are putting in these amps. Its going to end up being a mystery left on the shelf.. just like all the current wrecks for sale. In some celebritys collection who only bought it because it was expensive and rare.
