RFT is the Seimens tube relabeled, BTW, and yes, great tube. One guy on ebay is Brian Sanborne, he has a very big supply of them always for sale. The thing he does for you is rattle test them in an amp - if you ask - and this is a big plus I think.
I am running the Seimens right now, and also have run the KT77s from J/J which I like very much. The Siemens are better probably, but then there's the $$. I have a pair of xf2s and they are cool, but I like the Seimens better in the Express that I built. Alan Philips loves the Mullards, BTW, which is good to know.
One tube I have not tried is the Winged C - thanks for the input, I will try them.

i just bought a pair of nos mullards xf3 for 60,- € from a trustet company in germany.
can't wait till i get them...
in the next few day's the nos tungsram 12ax7 sould arrive as well.

v3 tung sol 12ax7
v4+v5 mullard xf3 bias at 39ma
sounds incredible. now i know what it's all about mullards and nos.
but the electro harmonix el34 mullard come very close.
they have a little less bass.
