I think I am right in saying the vector board has different hole / spacing dimensions and those are not the original flea clips.

The correct vector board is possible to get hold of as some people have managed it but it took more work than an order from Allied. The same goes for the clips.

It looks like Allied Electronics has flea clips and vector board. Check page 1893 of the virtual catalog. Also, they show stock on Rubycon caps - don't know about required values/voltages though.
RJ and I have some original Vectorboard - with the correct hole size and spacing. It does have its issues, tho'. It's brittle stuff. RJ has just gone through the pain of having "replica" boards made with modern material and old-style hole dimensions.

There are a couple Liverpools (documented here) which do not have the original vector board. KF was able to work around it....

You guys crack me up. A drive-by-poster comes by and asks about information he can find with a search, and it turns into a 2 pager.

And FYI, the flea clips that Allied and others have are Keystone .06" size..... the correct and impossible to find version is .093 (3/32").....

And yes, it is kinda funny... but ultimately many here tried for as close as they could to the original, so I guess a fella can dream....

It hadn't occurred to me that the dia. and spacing of hole and shape of flea clip were significant. Perhaps only if one wants to make an exact clone.

Since even an exact copy will not be guaranteed to sound authentic, would the OP consider a more conventional, and readily available construction technique?

Well, anybody can do that. Now if you can throw in ginsu knifes that are correctly dated and period correct, then we have something to talk about! :)

There I fixed it.

Seriously, the amount of research and information on Trainwreck's here is amazing. Personally I don't care if it's flea clips or PTP, as long as it makes the noise I like.
