Transformers are mounted and started to wire tube sockets tonight.
Not sure filament wire color as I found a couple of diagrams with different color schemes. I guess it is not as important as getting the electrons to flow and doing so quietly.

Tonight I got to assemble the other two main boards. :D A few manufacturer
changes in the parts used for the three. .47pf vs .50pf. .002uf c8 and .001uf.
Different manufacturer on C1 and C7 22uf and 25uf. It will be interesting to hear the difference in the three amps if much at all.

Look at you! And what of the wife? Feeding fish all evening, I presume. ;)

Imagine what she says on her fish feeding forum..

"I had to wait for a couple hours for my husband to solder some amp thing, then we went on this amazing trip to the store for supplies. I got food and stuff!".

lol

Here is tonights progress. All three power supply boards are wired, and completed some wiring on the chassis. Installed Alpha pots on amp #1.
May change them to carbon PEC's at a later date (Have to see how they work in amp #2 first), but for now had to use Alpha's on amp #1. :)

Mark,
Boards are from rj. He did a great job on them :D Lets hope the machine keeps running smoothly, wife has been good about the hours I spend building so far. :) Hope the fish store has lots of inventory or a big sale.
Here are some more pictures of todays work.

Another picture of the progress of amp #1. :D
A few small changes along the way, preamp bypass caps 22uf replacing the 25uf caps first used, polarity of caps on PS board for neater wiring, just things I felt made the project better. I guess I'll know if i was right when I power it up for the first time.

Very clean work and pleasing to the eyes.

I used rj's boards in my Express as well. :)

Where is your buss wire, behind the pots, grounded? I see a green wire running to a turret…then where?

It runs to the junction of R17 and R18 on the bottom of the circuit board.

All wired up tonight. Tomorrow I will recheck everything and try powering it up for the first time. Don't want to make the neighbors and wife mad at me tonight, I know myself too well to think I could do it quietly.

Great looking build. If it sounds as good as it looks it will be killer!

Any reason behind going over the top as opposed to along the chassis with the presence wiring?

Thanks Fishy,
Can't wait to hear it myself, Working on it as I type. Had to run the wife to the pet store before I could work on my stuff???...HaHa.
Are you talking about the wire to the impedance selector?
If so I guess I could not see from the drawing it was along the chassis top.
I was thinking along the bottom it is a more direct route to the selector switch and pot. And with the bottom cover on it will be close to a part of the chassis and away from the heater and other wires. ???????
