Re: New Trainwreck Inspired 2 channel amp
James had the volume set about 5-6, not sure about the tone controls and the VVR was set at about 1/2 - 3/4 power. He was using the Liverpool side for his leads and the Rocket side for his rhythms. This was the first time he had used the amp. We took the stage, plugged in and just went with it although he is use to using my Liverpool on a regular basis so he knew what he was doing on the Liverpool side and what tone and feel to expect. We only had 15 minutes setup time between bands and no sound check. There was a band that went on before us so the sound guy had most of everything dialed in but the guys in the first band used their own amps so I'm sure the sound guy had about 2 or three songs to get James dialed in. The four 12 cab was a Bullfrog cab I think. Not sure. He is usually playing through one of my 4x12s with greenbacks from the seventies. I've completely spoiled himdonzoid wrote:Dana,
Sounds great (then, and now)...can you tell me where James had the volume set to get this level of breakup (and if he had the VVR engaged, about what level of cut).
And while I'm at it, is he using the Liverpool side for the rhythm stuff, then the rocket for lead or the other way 'round.
In any case, being a guy who is playing out at least every other weekend, I am way impressed with this tone...I hope my amps will come close to this as time goes on!
