You can find great pieces of wood on ebay if you know what you are looking for.

It is made out of Flame Maple.
You are wasting your time looking for 10" wide boards at Woodcraft.
They are a good place to buy tools, but their wood selection is nothing to brag about.

MANY MANY folks have given rave reviews to the wood purchased from http://www.galleryhardwoods.com/ - folks who build guitars, etc. (www.mimf.com) Larry is the name of the proprietor, and if you tell him what you're looking for, word is he ALWAYS delivers.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...
