Just curious how a true airbrake looks cosmetically

Well how come we aren't building them that way then? :) Looks like a cast box not sheet metal. Nice color too.

The earliest ones I've seen were made in thin aluminum BUD boxes, same type as the chassis though long and thin. Label maker and all, very home made looking but cool as expected. Same big brown power resistors, a Lorin (possibly) rotary switch with 5 or 6 positions, no reostat, slave out, 2 speaker jacks. Ken called it a "Air Brake Power Reducer" and marked it 75 watts maximum in.

all Ken's were long aluminum boxes, real homemade. then Alessandro made some for a while with the same parts and boxes, with painted logo. Then Kendrick made some but were not the same spec and build. Then komet made some. Then Dr Z made the later official licensed ones.

I found a zip file showing the complete Kendrick AB if some one wants to build one of those. Lots of good pictues of the circuit.
