Anyone ever fix an electrolytic?
If you read my earlier post I broke the posiive lead off the 40uf mallory closest to the preamp board. It doesn't look like I can source another one on a Saturday. Has anyone ever resoldered the lead back onto an electrolytic capacitor successfully? This is just so I can gig tonight, Monday I can get a new one and fix it properly. It looks like a little cup where the lead broke so I may be able to attach it. Any thoughts? Phil

Yes you should be able to solder a wire onto the nub if it's stil on the cap. You might want to file the nib a little to make the solder flow better. I wouldn't try and solder a new lead on the cap just solder the wire(s) to the nub. This should be considered a temporary fix but it should get you through tonights gig.
