Stancor 3801 data?

Post by 1966Riff »

Anybody know technical data for this OT?

Total primary Inductance?
capacitances: Primary Capacitance, primary to ground?
Primary DC Resistance

If anybody has a 3801 is possible any measurement?

thanks in advance.....and sorry for my english.

you can look up alot of data here..
http://www.bunkerofdoom.com/xfm/index.html

Its been copied and tweaked by many. If you find a real one they are a very sweet sounding tranny for the express. I think Brian Wallace just had one of his copied,without the 250 and 500 ohm taps.

Ok thanks.

HeeBGB could you connect the primary to 117Vac and measurement the current in mA? only OT please

How can you measure current when it's not connected to anything? The specs say 150mA per side.

It'll still present a load of sorts (not much), and you can use the current measurement in determining its primary inductance.

Ok Ipri0 is the idle current when you connect primary to a AC source f.e 117Vac and 60Hz.

Plug the prirmary to 117 Vac with an amperimeter connected in series and no other OT wires connect please. Now you know Ipri0.

If we know de Vac 117 and the "idle current" Ipri0, we get primary Inductance.

For example :

Rpri=100ohm
Vacc=117 Vac
Ipri0= the current measurement I dont know f.e. 5mA?

Zpri=Vacc/Ipri0 -> XLpri=117/0.005

Zpri=23400 ohm more or less equal to XLpri cause Rpri very low, so:

XLpri=2*pi*frecuency*H -> 23400=2*3.14*60*H

H=23400/377= 62.07 Henrry

really Zpri=(Rpri+XLpri) vector sum 90 degrees, but XLpri is bigger than Rpri
