I am just finishing of a trainwreck liverpool , photos below (vvr and type 3 master vol installed). I currently have 2 different matched pairs of el84 tubes. I was wondering how I should arrange them in the amp. Should i place each match pair on either side of the output transformer wires (Ex ABAB)and then use a separate resistor to bias each matched pair of tubes. So each matched pair sees the same cathode bias resistor? Can the resistors be the same value Ex 120 ohms each?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 2 different matched pair of el84s in a Liverpool
Match the two in the middle and match the two on the outside. If the two pairs are not closely to being matched you could use two different resitors. Id just match them the way I described and see how it sounds

Thank you RockinRocket! I will try it the way you mentioned and also use the same resistor . I will post back in a week when I am done.
Cheers
